The R-Series from Temposonics (formerly MTS Sensors) is a linear position sensor that uses the principle of magnetostriction to measure position. With its high performance, the position sensor meets the diverse requirements of industrial applications. The model RH with high pressure rod design is ideal for installations in hydraulic cylinders. The RP is a stable profile designed for external mounting. The RF with flexible measuring pipe is available for ranges up to 20 m.

R-Series sensors with PROFIBUS DP output offer a minimum resolution of 1 micrometer and a linearity deviation better than 0.01 % full stroke. One sensor can measure and output the position for up to 30 magnets simultaneously. Limit values and status messages are also available with the direct PROFIBUS DP output.
