The wide variety of different operating principles, models, sizes and specifications of noncontact photoelectric sensors allow for the best selection to all automation tasks where noncontact solutions are required. Examples:

 

1. Optical Data Couplers

The optical data couplers were designed to establish wireless communication with stock feeders, industrial trucks, automated transportation systems, overhead conveyors and docking stations. Mechanical and problematic RF- and Wi-Fi-based transmissions are avoided as a result. Devices with a variety of operating ranges and transfer rates are available. The optical data couplers provide many remarkable features:

  • devices for PROFIBUS or PROFINET
  • identical units communicate with each other
  • problem-free light beam interruption due to TVT (Telegram Verification Technology)
  • simple programming without opening the device
  • no parameterization
  • detection range from 0 m up to 300 m
  • line indicator for signal strength
  • plug connection for fast mounting

 

2. Distance Sensor

Series VDM 100 laser distance measurement devices are designed for high distances up to 300 m. They have a repeat accuracy of 0.5 mm. SSI and fieldbuses are used as value interfaces. The devices are used for precise positioning of rack operating units, gantry cranes, rail-bound vehicles, elevators and other linear movable units. The distance sensor provides many remarkable features:

  • measuring method PRT (Pulse Ranging Technology)
  • non-contact precision measurement
  • active dynamic control
  • modern lightweight design, extremely robust
  • simple programming with 4 keys and luminous display
  • ultra-fast data acquisition
