The CMC 70 is an high performance CPU module for the IndustrialIT control system Melody. It provides all kinds of function blocks for process automation and ist equipped with 2 independant PROFIBUS DPV1 lines.
With the introduction of CMC 70 all redundancy features known from the Melody system are available also for PROFIBUS:
* line redundancy
* master redundancy
The configuration is done via Composer, the central engineering tool. Composer provides also the configuration for all PROFIBUS DP masters and slaves within the system.Using the acyclic services of PROFIBUS DPV1 an online parametrization of all connected field devices is possible. Composer is open for the integration of third party field device configuration tools.
