Compact microprocessor indicator / controller for analytical measurement

The dTRANS Az 01 from M.K. Juchheim GmbH is an innovative high-performance product. Applications for this instrument are to be found in the analytical measurement sector, for visualizing and controlling physical variables such as free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, oxygen, pH, redox voltage and conductivity in aqueous solutions.

The indicator has compact dimensions of 96x48x110mm, making it suitable for mounting in the front panels of switchgear cabinets, for example. An outdoor housing suitable for wall mounting is available for this instrument, as an option. The front and the operating unit are built to enclosure protection class IP65. The user can choose from a selection of panel film overlays with different printed legends. The instrument can be easily operated from the membrane keypad. Measurements are shown in two 4-digit 7-segment displays. The upper display (red) is used to show the physical variable of the medium concerned, the lower display (green) serves to show the temperature of the medium being measured. During calibration and parameterization, these displays are used to show the code settings with comments. These can be entered into the instrument by following the operating instructions.

The JUMO dTRANS Az 01 can be configured as a limit controller, pulse width or pulse frequency controller, with a P, PI, PD or PID controller action. The instrument is equipped as standard with two analog inputs (measurement signal input + temperature) for standard
0(4) 20mA signals, and two logic inputs. Outputs are provided as two relay contacts and one logic output that can be used as an alarm output or a temperature limit signal. The instrument can be extended by fitting additional card modules in the expansion slots. The maximum level of expansion is: one logic output, two analog process value outputs (electrically isolated), one serial interface, and one 18V DC supply output for 2-wire transmitters.

The JUMO dTRANS Az 01 can also be fitted with two extra relay changeover contacts, in place of the two analog process value outputs. A PROFIBUS DP interface is available as an alternative to the serial interface. If an interface card is fitted, then one of the two extra relay changeover contacts or one of the two extra process value outputs can no longer be fitted. The user can choose between two supply power options: 20 53V AC/DC or 110 240V AC. Setup software is also available as an option for this indicator, enabling individual configuration and parameter setting from a laptop via an adapter cable. Codes protect the four different setting levels from incorrect operation by unauthorized persons.
