The infrared link module (ILM) serves for wireless data transmission and has the
following characteristics:
- Wireless communication by infrared for PROFIBUS with a range of 15 m
- Transmission rates of up to 1.5 Mbit/s
- Simple alignment without aids
- Great area coverage (solid angle +/- 10 degrees)
- Diagnostic indication for function and transmission quality
- Rugged construction in degree of protection IP 65
The ILM communicates with mobile nodes, e.g. automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) or with changing peers, e.g. stations located in conveyors or production lines.
Stationary wiring lets you replace electronic equipment fast if a fault occurs.
