ERTEC 400 Enhanced Real-time Ethernet Controller

ERTEC 400 is an enhanced real-time Ethernet controller for use in PROFINET based automation applications. ERTEC 400 contains a dedicated 4-channel real-time Ethernet switch hardware, that saves the external switch, an ARM946E-S 32-bit RISC processor, an external memory interface for SDRAM and static memory, local bus and PCI interfaces, synchronous and asynchronous serial ports and general purpose I/Os. The 4-channel switch architecture makes ERTEC 400 fit to almost anywhere in a PROFINET network. ERTEC 400 comes in a compact 304-pin FBGA package. Together with a ready-made IRT-capable PROFINET IO device stack software, that runs under the leading real-time operating systems eCos or VxWorks, ERTEC 400 provides users with an easy, fast and cost-efficient way to certified PROFINET products.

  ·­ 4 kBytes of D-TCM
  ·­ Memory protection unit
  ·­ On-chip debug and trace functionality via JTAG interface
  ·­ ETM9 embedded trace macrocell
  ·­ Interrupt controller for 16 IRQs and 8 FIQs
• Internal Multilayer AHB bus running at 50 MHz
• 8 kBytes of internal SRAM accessible by ARM946 core, IRT and PCI/LBU interface
• External memory interface (EMIF) supports up to 256 MBytes of SDRAM and up to 64 MBytes for static memories and I/O with 4 chip selects
• Integrated PLL to generate internal clocks for ARM946E-S, AHB, APB and IRT switch
Predefined Boot ROM content supporting dif­ferent download sources
• 32-bit/66 MHz PCI Rev. 2.2 interface

• Two UARTs (16550 like) and one SPI interface
