In conventional marshalling racks the signals are routed between the field and
the controller via single cores. There is a great expense of wiring, configuring,
maintenance and documentation. With the I/O Manager the individual wiring
between terminal board and controller is replaced by the PROFIBUS.
This is made possible by the flexible, software-programmable pin assignments.
Each bit can be defined by software as an input or output. The I/O Manager
utilizes the usual standard structures in the process system. You can adopt the
pin assignments or change them as required. The software contains a great
number of safety queries and functions which guarantee enormous security in
configuring. The documentation and labeling is produced almost in parallel with
the work flow. Thanks to the permanent wiring, you obtain a maximum of service
and maintenance convenience.
