Especially in industrial environments different applications with different requirements can be found which will be addressed by different wireless technologies. Access to the medium needs to be suitably regulated. The use of wireless technologies therefore makes different demands compared with those described up to now for PROFINET. This document describes these demands both in terms of technology and network installation.
