Diagnosis for PROFINET Guideline



This guideline describes how to use the PROFINET diagnosis. It assists manufacturers during their own device development in “how to issue diagnosis information”, clients of the diagnosis (superordinated PLC and its user application program, diagnosis tools, engineering system, HMI, maintenance station…) in “how to get, process and present diagnosis information”.

The intended audiences of this document are therefore developers of PROFINET devices, PLC developers, application program developers as well as developers of engineering systems, HMIs, web servers or maintenance stations. At least some knowledge of PROFINET technology is assumed.
