Description:

IEEE 100BASE-TX Ethernet (“4-wire Ethernet”) is the dominating base technology for PROFINET Automation networks. In order to access further fields of application within Process Automation where automation equipment shall be used within hazardous areas, it is necessary to specify an intrinsically safe version as extension to the IEEE 100BASE-TX standard.

In order to develop this specification the working group is seeking for certification/R&D engineers highly experienced in designing hazardous area equipment.
